Allyson Cummings was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and took an interest in sports journalism at a very young age.
Growing up in a sports household, she watched many games after school with her dad as well as taking photos at her brother's baseball games. She also spent many years of her life traveling with her brother's different club ball teams.
Allyson is currently a producer for the Arizona Horizon program on PBS. She writes the script and rundown for the 5:30pm show on Friday. She also creates packages and bumpers for the show as well as leading the interns. She was once an intern in the summer of 2014 and then hired on the following spring.
She is also a reporter for Cronkite News. She covers the Arizona Coyotes and ASU athletics. During her time with Cronkite News, her work has been picked up by Fox Sports Arizona, ABC 15 in Phoenix, College Hockey News, and the Pac-12 Networks.
From the fall of 2012 until the spring of 2015, Allyson broadcasted the intermission reports for Arizona State men's ice hockey. At the time they played in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA,) where she produced and anchored a monthly show that covered the teams in the league during the 14-15 season. The show was distributed all over the country.
Allyson also helped with social media during Superbowl XLIX in Glendale, AZ.
With an interest in public speaking, Allyson placed top ten in the nation for prepared speech in the 2012 annual Skills U.S.A. competition with a motivational speech.
Allyson is hardworking, competitive, and loves learning new things, which makes her an asset.
